Musical baby

Aliza's favourite toy at the moment is her piano/xylophone (OK, metallophone; Neil says glockenspiel, but I think that's just a specific sort of metallophone).

She also loves it when I sing--it calms her right down. OTOH, this might actually mean she's tone deaf, because I'm not exactly a great singer, and she likes it when I sing ANYTHING--even things I really shouldn't/can't do (e.g. "Bohemian Rhapsody").

She's also going to know her alphabet early, because when I draw a blank I just sing the alphabet song... eh, won't hurt her :)

Contrary husband

If I suggest something to him, this automatically means he WON'T want to do it.

(Unless it's the sort of suggestion that's not really optional, like, "don't you think peeling some potatoes would be a good idea?")

Very silly. :P

I mention this because I just suggested something in a comment on his LJ, so now he won't do it! :-)

What a letdown!

Today's Express cover is your standard Diana conspiracy headline. I was hoping for a giant commemorative front page!

The Mail has been far more Diana-tastic than the Express last week (Madeline McCann is the new Diana of the Express)

(Not seen the Mail's front page yet--not gone out for the papers, the Mail doesn't do the front page on its site and Mailwatch hasn't posted it yet.)

(PS. I could care less about Diana and I think the fuss is just stupid, but I like snarking at the Mail and Express.)

Yay!!

I got the superman toss down! I finally realised what I was doing wrong and once I got my hands in the right place, I got the right leverage and she went right up. I only did it sitting on the bed to be absolutely safe, but I got her up, nice and high.

Now I just need to get the wrapping part right ;-)
