I finally got to take it in to Brent Cross. The guy tested my power supply by plugging it into one of the store's MacBooks. It made sparks and things smelled like smoke (and apparently caused damage to their MacBook). Oops. I swear, it never did that for me. I got a new power supply, tested my laptop to make sure the old power supply hadn't fried the new battery. it hadn't.

While I did that Neil took Aliza to the Early Learning Centre and bought her some new toys. Now she has one that makes animal noises (press the cow and it moos, press the cat and it meows, etc). She's enjoying it a great deal. :)
