D'oh

Thursday night, I noticed that my new laptop adapter wasn't charging. I checked the power strip, tried plugging it into a different cord, etc - no go.

So this morning I headed to the Apple store, thinking I'd gotten a defective adapter. Just in case, I brought my laptop. Queued up at the Genius Bar (12pm and all the slots for the day were booked!! Luckily I didn't need full service). I asked them to plug my laptop into one of their adapters to check. It didn't work. The girl went off for a bit to find someone else, then they checked it again. Mysteriously, it worked. Hmm. I asked them to check my adapter... and guess what, it worked! D'oh! I swear, it wasn't working no matter what I did at home.

Neil's off in Lancaster on a stag do and I'm at home, bored. Yesterday I did nothing (that anyone would be interested in knowing about). I'm now considering going to the cinema and debating which time. It's the early versus late dilemma :)

back

First of all, my adapter WAS working, and now it isn't again.

Anyway, saw Walk on Water, which was good, except for an annoying plot hole: NO Mossad agent would leave critical, sensitive files in an unlocked room while he hotwired a car and went out, even if he put them in a garment bag under the bed.

Pedants 'R' Us

How you can spot a pedant:

She sees the tracheotomy scene in the trailer for Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo and doesn't think "ew, tasteless". Instead she thinks "don't they understand the difference between the trachea and the esophagus?"
