Royal Mail, your incompetence never ceases to amaze me.

I come down to a "While You Were Out" card saying a package was too big for our letterbox.

1) the time on the card was 7:00. We were home. There is a buzzer clearly marked "Flat 2" outside our front door.

2) Nothing is checked on the back, so I have no idea whether it's being redelivered or I have to pick it up.

3) Finchley Church End Delivery Office is open 0700 - 1230 weekdays and is 3/4 mile away which is not convenient walking distance at the moment.

I think the default is collection from the office but you can ring up to get it redelivered at a convenient time

1230? In London. That's dire. Our local one is open until 1800 and although just over a mile away is right next to the bus stop.

Normally our postie arrives mid-afternoon and we miss him. Unless it's a Saturday. Then he always arrives about 0730. And wakes me up.

It's just as bad in Seattle. For a while I was constantly getting those "Nobody was home" tags on my door, when I'd been home all day. The cheeky bastards would even tape them right next to the doorbell!

I had to go down to the office and file several complaints before service improved.
