Ho hum, another year. No I didn't watch it, even though I was up.
I haven't seen a lot of the nominated films, so I can't really comment. It didn't seem like a particularly strong year, though. I'm not entirely surprised Million Dollar Baby won so many awards, despite all the criticism it's had for its ending (perhaps the Hollywood liberals liked giving awards to a politically controversial picture directed by a diehard conservative). It's directed by Clint Eastwood and the lead role is just the sort of thing the awards go for. And they got to reward Hollywood old-timers.
Hilary Swank now has Oscars for both the good roles she's picked. Ha.
The only interesting award was the screenplay one for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
As you can tell, I've done nothing today, which is why I'm commenting on the Oscars.
