Spotted an error in that Sunday Times article.
They got the population of the town of Hempstead wrong. Which is really stupid as they quoted the 2000 Census elsewhere in the article!
I e-mailed them with the correct figure and the link to Census 2000 info for New York State. >:)
(they said 729,000; the correct figure is 755,954. I'm unsure as to where they got their figure. I just googled (old census data isn't available for free) and it was 725,639 in 1990--and why would they use such an old figure anyway??)
