I'm on a tear today
today I have taken issue with:
- salicylate sensitivities (if 90% of the google results are woo-based or wikipedia, I'm going to retain my skepticism about whether something is real);
- homeopathy (bunk)
- the nutritional and dental claims of the Weston A. Price Foundation, which I consider to be one of the wooiest heaps of woo in existence. Second only to homeopathy.
BTW, Simon Singh and Edzard Ernst's book is a pretty good read, as is Rose Shapiro.
Also, while I am not a huge fan of NHS Blog Doc (his views on midwives and nurses can be pretty retrograde to say the least) he's got a good post on Dr John Briffa, scourge of the Observer:
