We got back at 1am yesterday. Yes, 1am.
It was pouring yesterday so the zoo was out (no pandas waahh). We did a brief driving tour of some of trhe sighs then headed up to Silver Spring where we had a terrific visit and lunch with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
estherchaya and sethcohen. We left around 15:30. There was a brief detour back into DC as I told Neil to go right instead of left (oops) but we got going fairly quickly.
The problems were twofold: one, the weather was shit, It was absolutely pouring the whole way. Second, we had to stop at BWI (nearest Hertz counter) to sort out the car after the fender-bender. That took over an hour and Hertz made us exchange the car. So now we're stuck with a Ford Taurus which is a POS and doesn't have as much space in back as the Mazda. :-(
I think we finally got out of Maryland a little before 20:00. Ugh. At least there was no traffic jam in Delaware.
Today will be lazy. And next time I'm selling my soul to Amtrak....
