HATE HATE HATE London Buses

So (after waiting 10 minutes in the rain) I get on a 125 at North Finchley, get the pram on the bus, touch my Oyster in.

THEN the driver tells me "oh, I already have 2 buggies on, that's my limit". Great. "Don't worry though love, there's another one coming up behind". Sure enough there was. It sailed right past without stopping. :-( I can't really complain--request stop, bus already stopped there, no one's arm out. But, ARGH.

of course, then I thought to myself "2 buses in a row, i'll be waiting ages for another one" and started walking towards the bus station (where the 82 and 460 also stop). As soon as I crossed the street, another 125 came along. DOH!! Dead empty of course.

Meanwhile it was a wasted trip because Specsavers didn't have my contacts in. They hadn't been able to get my old prescription from Boots because of the Data Protection Act. (They did try calling, but our phone line was buggered--BT didn't fix it till Monday.) When she called again, though (with me there to confirm the details) she got someone she knew and just got the details. I'm not sure what to be more annoyed at... the delay and wasted trip, or the casual disregard of data protection!

good girl!

she's nearly finished her last 4 bottles. So I'm relieved.

Nothing was happening on the bowels front, and the last time she did have one (Tuesday) it was rather hard, not nice and soft. So when she hadn't done one by this afternoon I gave her some water (midwife told me to do this when she was constipated very early on, and certainly it can't hurt her to have an ounce of boiled water!) She didn't want much--gave me a look, like "what the heck are you trying to pass off here?!" but drank a bit and 10 minutes later I was rewarded. Hardly an explosion, but it should help her a little. Nice shade of green though! (Something to do with iron... which can also be related to constipation, though I don't know exactly how it works in babies. Though I do remember that formula-fed babies can have green poo because the iron in formula isn't absorbed as well as the iron in breastmilk, so they add more and the extra is excreted, but she usually doesn't.) Anyway, hopefully now that we've got things moving a little, they'll start doing so on their own.
