Poor girl. If she's still like this Monday I'm taking her in. Surely a week without going properly can't be good for her, but i don't want to do anything without her seeing the doctor first. I'm not fooling with any home remedies stronger than a half ounce of water at her age.
(Yes, worried mother alert, yada yada yada...)
Got to finish Pesach shopping tomorrow. Blah. It will be mad (Pesach starts sundown Monday). I have a complete lack of enthusiasm somehow. But needs must--it's shop or starve, because the butcher's will be closed till Thursday and going veggie on Pesach sucks if you're Ashkenazi. (Bad enough without anything made from wheat, but subtract rice, pulses and seeds and you're living on fruits, veggies, and dairy.) My Pesach diet can be summed up by the fact that I've bought 5kg of potatoes... (well, they come in 2.5 kg bags, what can you do. Other than mash them, roast them, boil them, fry them, gratin them... ;) It's a good thing the Chayei Adam's opinion that potatoes are also kitniyot never caught on!)
You know you're a kitchen geek when The Independent does "50 Best Kitchen Essentials" and you own about 30 (or equivalent thereof--e.g. I own a Kenwood instead of a KitchenAid, because I wanted a large capacity bowl and they don't sell the 6qt one here. I do prefer the KA overall--I like the bowl handle design, and it's not as noisy, but the 7qt bowl of the Kenwood is good) AND you spot that they've listed an out of date model (the Magimix 4100 has been superseded by the 4200).
Speaking of my Kenwood: STILL not got extra bowl and whisk, that's a pain for Passover cakes. At least I have a hand electric whisk, so I can do either the yolks or the whites in the main bowl, and the other with the hand whisk. It's all right if I'm just beating eggs or cream--it would suck for some recipes, though.
