(but not to me!)

Neil went to change Aliza's diaper. He took off the dirty one and went to dispose of it. While his back was turned, there she went.

I said, "never turn your back, get the next one down as quickly as possible".

Well, he stripped off her clothes and decided to wipe her up first, without putting the clean diaper down. Guess what she did?

I'm sorry, I laughed. I warned him about giving her a chance!

(At least she had no clothes on the 2nd time, so she only got one set dirty.)

BTW, why does my daughter think that clothes-changing was devised by Torquemada? From her wailing, you'd think we were torturing the poor girl. It's not just getting things over her head, either; she keeps on crying down to the last snap.

First, today, which was a minor annoyance. I was in Waitrose and saw "blush oranges". I went "huh?" and looked at the label. After reading the description and the variety (Tarocco) I realised they were blood oranges. Great, name change for marketing purposes. Was the name "blood orange" really putting people off?

The other day in Tesco was worse, though. I went to the yoghurt aisle. They had a whole aisle of yoghurts (well, whole side of one). EVERY SINGLE ONE was flavoured. I finally had to ask where the plain was. It was in a little section at the end of the aisle.

Ah, the march of processed food over anything real or natural. Sorry, but I'm not buying. (Mostly. I do like the occasional strawberry yoghurt, but a whole aisle of the stuff was depressing.)

She's done sleep smiles before, but this was definitely a real one :) I was cuddling her and I tickled her nose, and she gave me a big smile. :) I melted.

I've also been trying to get her to copy me sticking out my tongue. She hasn't quite managed it yet, but I saw her trying.

I think we may have to get her some 3-6 month sleepsuits--she's getting too tall for her 0-3 month ones. A lot of her 0-3 month clothes still fit, but the sleepsuits are too short. She's shaping up to be tall :) (Of course, growth isn't always consistent blah blah blah.) She's been on size 2 diapers for a week now--we waited to try to finish up the size 1s we had, but they were just too small. (Size 1 is supposed to be 5-11 lbs, size 2 6-13--but size 2s were huge on her when she was born.) I'm not sure she'll be in these too long, though.

That reminds me, my mother got her a really cute bobbly jumper from Next, but for some reason she bought the newborn size, so she's just about grown out of it--she wore it yesterday, but I think that might be the last time. I could button it, but there's no extra room left. They do still make it, if I want to get it again. Next Baby has some really cute stuff actually :) So does Gap Baby (there's a big one in Brent Cross, what can I say?). And now it's getting more worth it to buy clothes as she goes out more, and soon the weather will be warmer so I can put her in dresses. (I think tights are a bit much at 2 months, don't you? But in the summer she can just wear socks.) Plus, they start doing colours besides pink for girls! I like pink and she looks good in it, but you can overdo it. Too much and it's like covering babies in Pepto-Bismol.

I couldn't resist 2 paperbacks at £3.73 at Tesco (where I usually don't shop, but it's closer and I only needed a few things, all brand-name). I know aggressive supermarket price-cutting isn't good for real bookshops, I know Tesco is an aggressive monster, and still, I gave in.

Someone give me penance.

(OK, i'm not Catholic... but the format works ;) )

But could we maybe rig it to get rid of the Daily Express?

(I don't like the Mail either, but over the past year or two the Express has decided to out-Mail the Mail.)

Although the headline I spotted on the *shudder* Daily Star wasn't too inspiring, either: "CRAZY FROGS"--referring, of course, to the Lille-Man Utd match.
