Despite Neil's skepticism (see his LJ) we went out. Not for very long, but I wanted Aliza to start getting used to her pram. So we went to the garden centre in Mill Hill (we meant to get cat food, but they no longer seem to carry Eukanuba for cats :( ) and then for a little walk around the park next to it. It wasn't a very long walk, because 1) it was cold (Aliza was all cosy in her pram, but nonetheless, I didn't want her out too long) and 2) I can't walk very far.

She seemed to like being in the pram though (once Neil was done swearing at it; the trouble with so many options is that it's a little complicated to fold and unfold, and we're still getting used to it). The women from my NCT group are getting together Wednesday; I might go (with her of course) if I feel up to taking the pram on the bus :) (it's in East Barnet).

Oh yes, I uploaded some more photos that my sister took over the past week :)

(for some reason I can't figure out, if you omit the index.html it redirects to the old folder name :/ I don't have the patience to play with it just now...)

(grr, fiddled with it and now refresh isn't working at all! Try http://web.mac.com/alexis_treeby/iWeb/Aliza/Welcome.html and sorry for the stupid URL. I know, I know, I could be less lazy and use better gallery-generation software, but it takes 2 minutes to export to iWeb from iPhoto. If I didn't mind having the photos as the base page on my .Mac site, it wouldn't be a problem, but I don't...)

I've said it before but this time I mean it. I've decided I'm going to join one. I won't get to go to the cinema very often now, and I hate renting from Blockbuster. I always return things late and get smacked with late charges, plus half the time they never have anything good.

My choices are lovefilm.com or amazon.co.uk.
Lovefilm: 3 DVDs at a time, unlimited monthly, £15.99
Amazon: 3 at a time, 6 per month, £9.99 - £1.99 for each extra DVD

When I used Netflix, I did sometimes rent quite a few a month, so the first seems like a better option for me. Has anyone got experience with either?

ETA: OK, signed up for lovefilm. I get a 14 day free trial, so why not :-)

Does anyone else think BBC3 should try filling out its schedule with something besides repeats of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps?? They seem to show about 4 episodes a night, which is pretty pathetic for a channel that's only on for 8 hours a day.

I don't even know anyone who watches Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps...

Lovefilm's queue isn't as good as Netflix's was. Netflix lets you order the queue so you get DVDs in precisely the order you want (if a title is unavailable, it goes to the next one on the list). Lovefilm just has a priority system. Pah.

Still, I've got 18 titles queued, and I'm sure Neil will groan at some of them. :-) On the other hand, I can catch up on some UK TV shows I never saw...

Mmmm, lemony. Though I think, on balance, I prefer lemon sorbet to ice cream: it's just pure refreshing lemonyness. Still, the ice cream is good. Actually, lemon-poppyseed would be even better. I once had a dessert that involved strawberries and lemon-poppyseed ice-cream (there was sponge cake in there as well) and it was a fantastic combination. I'll try it at home when strawberries come back into season here.
