Well, the midwife's advice to give Aliza a little water before her formula worked all too well...
Meanwhile, the lactulose has done its job on me. Phew. My iron levels are still lousy; I keep getting headaches. I made Neil get me a steak for dinner to top up my iron tablets ;) I'm almost out of those; I wonder if I need more.
I REALLY want to know why my incision hurts so much if it's supposedly healing well... I have to go back in for a check tomorrow and I'll ask. I'm out of co-dydramol as well.
Tomorrow we're going to Burnt Oak to register Aliza (how annoying, they closed the one in Barnet... there's a trial service running at Whetstone, but we couldn't get an appointment) and then to register at our new GP. Our old surgery had a catchment area of N12 and N20 only. We're living about 300m from the N3/N12 border. DOH! Unfortunately, when we registered, neither practice in N12 (which might take patients in our area) was accepting new patients, so we had to register in N20. Almost all the surgeries in N3 are tiny, 1 or 2 doctors. We managed to find one 3-person practice nearby (walking distance, which is nice). I like larger surgeries as 1) single person practices tend to have odd hours; 2) larger practices offer more services; 3) larger practices tend to be more 'with it' when it comes to new ideas. For example our old practice was totally computerised and has gone online so you can request repeat prescriptions and make appointments.
Forgotten brag: when Aliza had her discharge exam at the hospital, the doctor said she had the head control of a six-week old :) My mother can't believe how strong she is. *proud* Maybe she'll hit her physical milestones on time, unlike me! Though I wouldn't mind her taking after me mentally. I was a genius baby ;) (Shame I hit my peak early, eh?)
