Announcement

I'm pregnant! :)

Due date is 15 January. I know it's really early to announce it, but people are guessing because I'm complaining about being nauseous and tired, and really, I can't be bothered to self-censor. :)

(Although I do feel a bit guilty knowing how some people on my f-list had major infertility problems, and I got so lucky...)

oh dear

My mother's still making a fuss over me driving home from the airport. Yesterday she said "I don't want you driving around while you're pregnant". I have yet to hear any reason why pregnant women shouldn't drive, at least before the bump's big enough to make it awkward.

This trip could be a nightmare...

holiday

Hmm, trying to think of a holiday for September now that South Africa is out (I won't be able to fly then). Everyone says to take a holiday before the baby comes, too. :)

I don't think I'll be able to hack long-haul in economy at that point, and Virgin doesn't fly anywhere we'd like to go that time of year (Caribbean in hurricane season is out). We're thinking Italy--maybe Rome and the Amalfi Coast (Naples is £37 each way on BA and Italian trains are cheap. Low-cost airlines are out for the same reason as long-haul.) It sounds like a good combo--not all city sightseeing.

Any other suggestions? Art, good food, good scenery are all pluses. I don't fancy Greece or Cyprus as they tend to lack the second. :-) Since we're not going to shell out for business class, pretty much has to be in Europe..
