I got sat in the ass of the plane (row 56, 747-400), so I got boarded first. Then we were delayed. We finally took off at 15:30, 90mins behind schedule. The plane was packed, I couldn't get comfortable and I went to the loo about 7 times (good thing I asked for an aisle seat!)

Got into JFK, visitors queue was massive. Now, I don't have to stand on it, but it meant that the luggage piled up on the carousel because its owners were queuing for immigration. Finally got my bags. Got to car rental. Stupid AirTrain is slightly lower than the platform: very hard to get luggage cart out! When I called my mother to tell her I was late she said "You didn't have to drive, I told you not to..." Oh, and she thought I was flying BA. Can't imagine why--I always fly Virgin!

And.... no cars! Never mind that I'd booked and I was supposed to be 2hrs earlier. Finally got out at 19:15.

Got home, mother IMMEDIATELY started on my weight (my father yelled at her), then Jen called and said I shouldn't be drinking Coke because of the caffeine. I said I'd checked and that it takes 8 cans of Coke a day to make a difference, and I no longer drink nearly that much.

The dogs are being cute. I'll take photos of Ziggy at some point--he is cute, like a little Gund bear. But then, Bailey was cute at first ;)

There isn't a decent flavour of ice-cream in the freezer! Shall have to rectify. :)

Slow day: Grandma came for lunch, I slept, played with the dogs. Abby is being a bit of a brat because of the new dog. She's refusing to eat from her bowl. Nothing's wrong with her--we gave her some leftover chicken and she gobbled it right up, and if you feed her by hand she'll eat. But she won't eat normally. It's a power issue: new dog in house.

I've been starving--had a largish bowl of Cheerios at 6am, then at 10 my stomach started growling. I nearly sucked down a cheese Danish. It didn't go unnoticed (or uncommented-upon) by my mother.

Speaking of disagreements, my mother hates every girl's name I like. Neil and I haven't agreed on one yet. Boy was easy, although there's a small difficulty to iron out involving middle names (it's somewhat difficult to explain without actually using the names, so I won't at this point). I tried finding a Jewish baby name book in the bookstore tonight, but no luck. Or not really: there was one, but it wasn't very good. (I want my kids to have the same name in Hebrew and English, rather than 2 separate ones the way I do.)

Anyway, other than that, got annoyed at the local Target because it has a tiny grocery section. (I didn't need groceries, as such; I wanted a pint of ice cream while I was there.) Went to Waldbaums, couldn't decide on a flavour. Ended up going to Barnes & Noble (Borders didn't have what I was looking for) and then at Cold Stone. I'll be sick.

And now I've realised something silly: I left the Target bags in the car, I need them and I've changed into my nightshirt... doh!

Oh, and my mother bought cans of Coke (she must have been shopping in Costco) which I hate because you can't have part of a can. Solved that problem when I went out, though.

I needed to get more toothpaste--I was almost out before I left so I decided to just buy a fresh tube here.

It was next to impossible to find non-whitening Crest. I can't use whitening Crest because I have so many crowns (including all my top front teeth). Whitener doesn't work on crowns, so if I use any whiteners, I'll get two-toned teeth.

All I could find was "original paste" (yeuch, hate taste) and one of the Sensitivity formulas. Hopefully it's the same one I already have, which is all right. I prefer mint gel, but beggars can't be choosers.

Oh, and there were about 7 varieties of mint, with stupid adjectives to describe them. I know there are different flavours of mint (peppermint and spearmint, for a start) but these just sounded like marketing tools.
