I've been very tired this week, but erratically so--I don't sleep 9 hours at a stretch, but sleep a while, get up, then get tired again. It'll pass, but it's annoying in the meantime. Neil's getting the short end of the stick with it!

I'm not a particularly huge Lieberman fan, but frankly, I'm more interested in having a Democrat win the election than having the ideologically pure win the primary. Deposing the centrist for the extremist doesn't have a great history as an election tactic, especially in the Senate.

Of course, a little nervousness never hurt the complacent, and if it makes Senator Lieberman move slightly left, it's for the good.

last week's NYT restaurant review had me craving dumplings. They reviewed a Ukrainian place in Brighton Beach that did 9 kinds of vareniki. Mmm. (Plus several kinds of pelmeni, meat dumplings, but it was the thought of cherry vareniki that did it for me.)

I know how to do those (OK, kreplach, which are basically the same thing but triangular; less work with the cutting and folding) but I don't have the space :( (you need room to roll out the dough!) Or sour cherry filling, which is one of my favourites. Kreplach, boiled, fried in butter and served with sour cream: one of the best, most fattening dishes ever. I like a potato and farmer cheese filling with onions.

Dumplings are one of the greatest foods ever. I've always loved them. Kreplach, wonton, ravioli, gyoza, it's all good.

This isn't far from us. I know people from Edgware, too...

Went to the doctor's today. Got him to go against the BNF. Twice.
(Admittedly, I had other doctors backing me up. I don't pretend to be a doctor; I just know enough to make informed decisions.)
