Bastard ISP!

Optimum Online has been nasty about BitTorrent for a while. Now they've hit new levels: After using BT for a couple of minutes, your internet connection mysteriously dies. I've tried it 5 times now, happened every time.

(Quick google only reveals discussion of capping. Could be my modem or router... but how would BitTorrent break that?)

Quick google shows that a lot of people have complained about this router vis-a-vis BitTorrent. Trying to fix it now.

I bought Netgear because I'd heard good things and they had a decent looking one at a good price. Now I'm reading very bad ones and they jibe with my experience (notably, slow page loads).

It's used so I don't rate our chances of a return (but might try) - it's not for us and I don't want to spend more money on a router for my parents... (we got them a new one).
