The vet phoned again (while I was in Boots). Zoe's thyroxine is normal, so it isn't hyperthyroid after all. He doesn't know why she has raised liver enzymes, except that it's probably related to her heart.
He's having the other practice contact me about having her in to have her heart scanned.
Now I'll spend my entire week in America worried about the cat.
She seems OK enough, and was very interested in some small metal ring (possibly a nut, it was Neil who went to see what it was) on the bathroom floor. She likes the noise that small metal and glass objects make on tiles.
Still, I imagine he must think it's potentially serious if he wants to do this many tests. :(
