It's all rebuilt (just installing a few more games).

TechTool Deluxe didn't turn up any problems with the drive; I'm keeping an eye on it. BTW, it's annoying that Micromart won't let you download TechTool Pro--it's by post only! (Since I have Deluxe, which you get with the Apple Protection Plan, I can get Pro at 40% off. Wouldn't mind having it.)

The vet just rang; Zoe's blood tests are back. She's got raised liver enzyme and cholesterol, so the vet thinks she's hyperthyroid. This is Good News, because you can give kitties tablets for that, just like people. (I asked.) Not that Zoe will like taking tablets but it's better than a real heart problem!

The only thing that doesn't fit is that she's gained 200g, but I did say that she's a lazy cat (she's alert and everything, just disinclined to physical activity) and she free-feeds.

She's going in for another blood test on Thursday. Of course, we only insured her quite recently (we thought about it last year, got quoted nearly £20/mo, didn't do it--then found one for £7 a month and went for it) so we can't claim for the tests :/ (Visit on Saturday was £189.) If she does need an ECG and ultrasound, that would be ok, because the cardiologist is only in a couple of days a month and by the time she could be seen, the insurance would be active.

Still, I'd feel guiltier if she got sick, so shell out we shall.. Most expensive non-pedigree moggy in London, I say!

After watching this episode of Dispatches, I am definitely never flying Ryanair.

I always suspected they cut corners, and this is confirming it.

(What gets me about Ryanair's response is they're completely denying that the filmed incidents ever happened! Do they think they were faked!?)

Ryanair have published the correspondence between themselves and Dispatches:

They got over 2 feet in New York... it's making me really homesick now :( I miss real snow lying in a thick white blanket, walking outside in the dark when everything's quiet and frozen...

southern England just doesn't get snow :(
