hmm.

In response to complaints, the Guardian has pulled an interview with Noam Chomsky from its website.

As much as I thought the interview was a hack job (I thought so immediately upon reading it, and I can't stand Chomsky politically) I'm unsure of the wisdom of pulling it from the website. It seems a bit 1984-esque. The interview took place; people read the article; will pretending it didn't all happen really change anything?

husbands

Neil's complaining about doing the washing up. He says, "I'd rather be doing something enjoyable."

Me: "Like sticking needles into your eyes?"
Him: "Yeah... disemboweling myself... listening to Westlife..."

changes

When I was in high school, I hated Depeche Mode. Now I really like Depeche Mode.

And I never used to like nuts but now I do. Still hate peanuts, though (which are not a nut, but a legume). And I'm not so keen on brazils or cashews, and I don't like walnut ice cream (but I do like hazelnut and pistachio).

Speaking of nuts, I found slivered almonds at the Iranian store in Golders Green. Expensive though, £1.79 for a smallish packet.

And why don't supermarkets have unsalted pistachios for cooking? Meh. They have macadamias, but not pistachios!

BT-Yahoo! SpamGuard

I think it's gotten a little overzealous.

This week, it decided that 80% of the messages from the mail-jewish list were spam. Today it decided that a message Neil sent from work was spam.

I have turned SpamGuard off. I never give that address out on websites, etc (except to get the headlines from the New York Times, and I'm 99% sure they don't give it out--I had them sending me stuff for ages to my other address with nary a spam mail).

Mail-Jewish v50i09 is still missing. Hmph. Can read it on web, but still.
