Just called them about that $7.50 charge that was on my statement (with no explanation).
Turns out that they're now charging $7.50 PER MONTH for online banking. I supposedly got a letter about it back in November. (I would have remembered getting that...) They cancelled the online banking (it's convenient, but I don't have 7.50 a month right now) but wouldn't reverse the fee. Tomorrow I have to go yell at a branch manager. Which will be a pain in the ass because my account's at the branch by my old job. Grrrrrr.

It is odd to note that the image of the UK as the land of bad service is seriously overstated when you compare it against some of the excesses of the American system. Going by Susie's own personal rants, the banking system is particularly bad...
