mmm, the joys of long-haired cat ownership.

I've just engaged in the process of aggressive detangling and defuzzing. (Aggressive on both our parts: she bit my finger.) When I finished (as finished as Zoe would let me; finally I couldn't hold her down any more) I had a lovely pile of cat fluff to throw out. It's amazing--she develops these enormous knots seemingly instantly. Sometimes I have to pull them apart first before i attack them with the comb, as she really hates having them combed straight out. If I pull them apart with my fingers first, she'll let me comb the rest.

On a similar note, Neil said earlier (when we were talking about bringing Zoe over): "anyway, i'm looking forward to having a cat about the place (though not the cat-hairs - i suspect that she will definitely become *your* cat when hairs become an issue ;))"

To which I reminded him that once we've got the space, we're getting a golden retriever--he'll really love that! (To this day, I'm amazed that my mother got a golden--they're fabulous dogs, but they shed constantly, and Mom's a clean freak.

Hmm, who thinks I should put a Dyson with the pet-hair attachment on our wedding list? ;)

We got our cat on August 10th 2001. On August 11th we bought a Dyson. It wasn't an option :)

Yeah, but is Percy as fluffy as Zoe? :)
