alexist at 10:19am on 13/02/2009 under bad scienceTTC discussion somewhere else - acupuncture and IVF comes up. I'm keeping my mouth shut because if I tell them the truth (studies have shown it to be ineffective) I'll get smacked on for being insensitive, since I've never had to go through it.
However, this makes me see red:
"(Person X) and I both did acupuncture, and we both have babies, so I'm a big fan of it!"
Um... No. You both have babies because you did IVF. The acupuncture was nothing more than a relaxing placebo that helped you cope with treatment. AAARGH.
