1) UK supermarket milk is (usually) sold in plastic jugs with caps. (OK, a few brands sell in Tetra-Paks, and UHT milk always is.)
American milk (except for full gallons) is sold in Tetra-Pak style containers. Only, not the nice Tetra-Paks with the caps built in. They still use old style cartons where you have to open the flaps to make a spout. I forgot how damn annoying it is and how the inside flaps sometimes stick.
2) my parents have triple play with the cable company. If you're watching TV and the phone rings, the caller ID information is displayed on the TV. This is cool because obviously I don't want to pick up all their calls, but I can see instantly if it's one I should answer.
unfortunately, one of their lines also has this thing where it announces the caller, and the text-to-speech sucks. It doesn't correctly recognize the word "wireless" (as in Verizon Wireless, my parents' cellphone company) and I find it very irritating. It pronounces it as "wih-REE-less".
