I didn't sleep on Sunday night (really, I got less than 3 hours).

Yesterday, Aliza was a very sleepy girl. She fell asleep when we went to the supermarket and I thought "uh oh, no real nap today". I was wrong. She fell back asleep a little after 3, and I was afraid to have a nap myself because I thought it wouldn't last. She slept till 6pm!

Naturally, she didn't want to go to sleep. she bounced around in bed for 10 minutes (she is very good at understanding that when one of us gets in bed and turns the light off, it's bed time--the problem for us is that's the only way she understands!)

List will be updated as necessary (as items are claimed or added). Claim your item and we'll dicker on price, because I don't have the time/inclination to price it all now. The Billys are free if you pick them up.

ETA: Pickup/availability will be after 20th August (preferably, though I might let some stuff go before ;) ) and before Neil leaves (2-3 weeks later).

List - some stuff already claimed! )

The driver on the 326 today insisted that I park the stroller with the back to the wall, claiming safety. Happened again on the way home, so it must be some new Metroline thing. This is both annoying and unsafe, because:

1) A stroller's handle reaches slightly further than the wheels. If a stroller is parked handle-in, the wheels are not braced against the wall, making it more likely to tip, not less. (I argued this point with the 2nd driver, but it was futile.)

2) it is difficult and inconvenient (for you and for the other passengers who have to wait or move) to reverse your stroller and push it back in.

3) it is difficult to get the stroller out, particularly if there is a 2nd one on board as you can't reach!

4) If your stroller has a footbrake (not a hand brake) it is impossible to reach it. I have no idea how you could brake a Maclaren this way.

As a matter of fact, Aliza prefers to face the aisle, not the wall, but I can't and don't park that way for the above reasons--primarily 1. I had to keep my hand on the bar the whole time in case she tipped.

In my 4 years here I have never seen a driver insist on this, and the 2 middle aged ladies agreed that it was daft and everyone parks head-in!

Aliza annoyance: If I sit down on the sofa to eat lunch, she grabs it and won't let me eat. if I sit at the table, she cries because I/lunch are out of reach.

Aliza cute: Neil was given a Simpsons travel snack kit (with mug, cutlery, etc), packed in a metal lunchbox. Aliza has adopted it. She walks around holding it by the handle.

Our TV cost Neil nearly £1K when he bought it.

Today (before I discovered that he'd promised it to someone else!) we were going to sell it for £50.

CRTs are basically worthless these days..
