Biiiiig baby

we measured Aliza yesterday: 77cm! (just over 30") Need to get her weighed today or tomorrow: she's got to be about 10 kg by now.

According to the height/weight chart in my red book that puts her near the 90th percentile for height. Knew she was tall!

car seats cost too much!

Which? says the Maxi-Cosi PrioriFix and the Maxi-Cosi Tobi are best in test. According to the fit-finder, the Tobi won't fit in our car; the PrioriFix will. But it's £229!!! I'm not sure I want to go with one of the cheaper ones, because the PrioriFix has the support leg and I know that does make a real difference. When it comes to car seats I'm a paranoiac. But... but.. £229 and only up to 18kg...

I do plan on flouting the law and using it in the States though :P

(What kills me is that the top-rated Britax Boulevard (US model) is $300, and it goes up to 65 lbs.)

end of laptop saga and more bratty child

Of course, after I made an appointment with Apple, it started working again. Luckily it stopped working, and I went. It was the power cord. When I was there I compared mine to one of theirs--it was as I'd suspected. Bent pin inside the connector.

Meanwhile, missy here has been in a foul mood today. First, she had a nice tantrum. I put her down, she puts her arms out to be picked up and whines. I pick her up, she flails and screams. Finally she fell asleep for a bit. After she woke up, she just had fits whenever I attempted to stop her playing with my laptop, the phone, and various other items.

She's now calmed down a bit and is using various pieces of furniture as a brace (she's trying to pull herself up). She's also trashed yesterday's Independent.

Bad parking

When we parked last night, no one was behind us. This afternoon:



The stroller was in the boot, so I had to get it out from the side. Grr. Didn't the guy realise that his rear end blocking the driveway was a sign that that was NOT ENOUGH SPACE?!
