I went to Regent Street and said, "I think I have a defective battery; it runs off AC power but doesn't charge".
They plugged my laptop into their power cord. Battery didn't charge.
They put in a test battery. It charged.
Diagnosis, bad battery, I got a new one. They tested it at the store and it charged--clearly nothing wrong with either the battery or my machine.
I get home. Plug in laptop. It doesn't charge.
Clearly, the battery WAS defective because it didn't charge on the store's power cord (no lights). Is it possible that both the battery and adapter had problems?!
*sigh*
At least Brent Cross let me book an appointment... for Wednesday.
