A couple of months ago, I sold a wrap. The buyer got a serious deal, mainly because I did some bad math. She's now listed it on the same forum... for more than she paid for it. OK, kol hakavod for her if she can make a profit on the deal, but part of me really wants to post on the thread and say how much she paid for it. >:)

I think I'd care less if she hadn't given me a spiel about how much she wanted the wrap (it did soften me up. I was weak, and I was in a tight spot because i'd missed the 14 day return deadline.)

She's promoting SMA in OK! (And she isn't breastfeeding because, basically, she's squicked out by it. Er, dear, that IS what they were made for. Or were, before you put litres of silicone in them.)

http://boycottnestle.blogspot.com/2007/08/sma-ok-magazine-wbw.html

(product placement, trying to get around the marketing code. Bad SMA! And mysteriously, an SMA ad for follow-on milk [which is legal] is on the next page.)

BTW, it's World Breastfeeding Week :)

Oh, and NYC public hospitals have banned formula goody bags! It's a testament to the sad state of infant feeding in the US that people are saying this violates women's right to choose. Er, you can still ask for formula, they just can't give you free samples. As for choice, how about a baby's right to be fed in the best way possible?

Teeny tiny step towards implementation of the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes. Adopted by WHO in 1981, and STILL not in effect in the United States.

The 100 Best Commercials of the '80s

Although they're missing the other great anti-drug PSA:
"This is your brain" (holds up egg)
"This is your brain on drugs" (cracks egg into hot frying pan)
"Any questions?)

Ooh, a sequel:
http://www.giantmag.com/2006/12/tv/by-popular-demand-50-more-80s-commercials/

Darn, the Clapper ad is no longer available on YouTube! Ah, found it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsxcdVbE3mI

And darn it again, they've gone for the "Ancient Chinese Secret" Calgon ad, not "Calgon, take me awaaaaaaaay!"

OK, the brain on drugs one is #49 on the sequel. And I mis-remembered it slightly, I thought it started with the pan actually but couldn't connect it to your brain (instead, it starts with "this is drugs" or some such).

The '80s had some monumentally bad commercials.
