I've been coasting on housework lately--with being tired, and the baby, and catching up on sleep when Neil's home to watch her, I've been doing the bare minimum.
I finally decided enough was enough and started on it. It's depressing. You get some done, and even though you feel some sense of accomplishment, you look around and realise just how much still needs doing. Part of me wishes I could just hire someone. Even if it's only a one-off--it's so much easier to maintain a clean state than to get it that way. The rest of me says not to be such a lazy arse.
Anyway, half the living room is done. The other half was partly done the other day, so I just need to tidy it, and the whole floor needs mopping (tomorrow's job, out of floor cleaner). The kitchen needs a good scrubbing. The bedrooms need tidying and dusting.
We have too much junk. Really, we do. If we had less crap, we'd have less cleaning to do because things wouldn't pile up and ultimately require a full scale assault. Unfortunately, we're both horrible collectors/pack rats, so a reduction is simply not going to happen.
