I'm not one of those people who believe that all Poles are unrepentant anti-Semites, but this is ludicrous. Anti-Semitism in Poland dates back well before independence, or even Russian influence in eastern Poland (starting with various wars in the 17th century). My mother's family didn't just leave Lodz and Warsaw for the economic opportunities in America. Poles did cooperate with the Nazis--they weren't just victims.
And after the war? Jews would return to their villages and be spit on, find their possessions gone, told they'd never lived there. But Kielce was just the communists, of course...
