I pulled a back muscle in my sleep (my right latissimus dorsi, for you anatomy wonks) and it hurts. I have no idea how I did it. All I know is that I woke up in the middle of the night, tried to turn over, and winced in pain. This is not a good muscle to pull, especially when you have a 17 lb baby to tote around. I had to give her a bath this morning, too. It also means I'll have to go and get the buggy out of the car if I want to take Aliza out (which I do since I need stuff for dinner)--best not to carry her today I think!

I've put the first load of laundry on (unplanned diaper load, pah, but I didn't want to leave stuff to set). Towels and sheets later, plus most of Aliza's clothes (the ones that go in on a regular 40C cycle; the delicates were done yesterday and are drying). At least this all gets tumble dried, except for the nappy outers--our living room is draped in laundry at the moment since I did nappies and delicates yesterday!

Um, yeah, I'm bored.

I love the USPS: it claims "delivery attempt made 2:11am".
And no, that's not EDT (I saw it before 7:11 BST) You know, I don't think Parcelforce makes deliveries in the middle of the night.

(Yeah, I'm one of those weirdoes who compulsively checks package trackers... it's fun... or maybe I'm just OCD)

And no, there was no note saying that Parcelforce are holding my package to ransom. We did, however, have a bill from Three Valleys Water. Which, er, says they owe us £91.77--it's a final bill for the old flat.

Meanwhile, someone is fussing because I can't hold her nonstop (stupid back).

I got her to eat some sweet potato :) And after the first spoonful (OK, I cheated, I used a spoon for the first time--wanted her to actually taste it) she really liked it. She was grinning and laughing and opened her mouth right up for the spoon.

Although the experience did make me skeptical about one BLW claim--that parents overfeed babies when they spoon feed. Aliza was very clear when she didn't want any more! (Just like she is with her milk.) I'm still going to go with a more baby-led approach; there's no reason for her to have pureed everything, or not to use her fingers and feed herself when she can. But honestly, I'm doing it because it's easier on me! I've watched mothers sit there for 45 minutes trying to get baby to eat an ounce of banana. That seems silly to me. If baby's hungry, she eats. If she's not eating, she's not hungry.

Also, I got her to doze in her swing for long enough to start dinner :-) (Neil's at a colleague's leaving do tonight.)
