Aliza likes her new high chair. She happily watched us eat dinner tonight.
She's still uninterested in food when we try to give it to her. I'm going for (sort of) baby-led weaning, so if she doesn't want it she doesn't get it. :) It definitely makes me the odd one out at my NCT meetings--everyone says "but of course they spit it out at first". Well, yeah, they haven't lost the tongue-thrust reflex. She will, and then she'll eat. I never say anything about the way other people do it though--if they ask me questions about my method I'll answer and be honest about why, but I never say anything. Like when someone was pleased that their baby had had a whole Weetabix, with cows milk no less, and I sort of winced inside (wheat and cows milk are usually no-nos for 6 month olds). (But this is my LJ so I can say what I want here. ;) )
In the meantime she's getting 225mL bottles because she's draining her 200mL ones to the last drop and getting hungry fairly quickly. Milk is still their main source of nutrition till 1 year anyway. The thing is that a lot of these non-standard weaning plans assume you're BF'ing--which I'm not. So I'm going on the theory that even though formula is inferior to BM, it's a lot closer than sweet potato. We'll see how it goes! Like I said I'm not aiming for strict BLW; if I'd eat it with a spoon I'll feed it to her with one (many BLWers will avoid anything pureed or liqiudy because baby can't feed it to themselves). I don't think it's so bad for her to have me feed a spoonful of potato or yoghurt.
Otherwise, I am Laundry Queen. 4 loads today which is not bad considering how long my machine takes (and diapers require a long cycle, plus pre-rinse, plus an extra rinse afterwards to make sure there's no detergent residue).
