Child has started peeing for England. I'm getting side leaks out of her nappies. (Nothing wrong with the nappies: I left her in just a nappy after one change yesterday and periodically felt her to see when/where she leaked. She was fine, then at 3 hours, I felt some wetness around the edges. Checked, and the insert was soaked. So it's just heavy wetting.)
I want those Hemparoos damnit :) For now, my latest experiment is a trifolded infant prefold stuffed in the Fuzzi Bunz. A prefold is 4 layers at either side, 8 in the middle, so that's 16 layers of cotton twill. Not as trim as microterry, but it should absorb more. (Conveniently, a trifolded infant prefold is the perfect size for medium Fuzzi Bunz.) of course, I could just stick prefolds on with a Nippa, but this is easier ;) Also, better containment, IYKWIM.)
(oh hell with it, I'm ordering 6 inserts directly from BabyKicks. They're light enough that the shipping isn't ridiculous. The USPS REALLY jacked up the rates and having anything sent is now super expensive :( ) The only downside of the hemp is that it's quite slow drying--HAS to be tumble dried and then hung to finish drying through. Shame. I bet hemp prefolds would be really trim and absorbent (Hemp Babies make these as well).
