Aliza got weighed today: 7.65 kg / 17 lb 14 oz. That's just over the 50th percentile line on the chart--she was more like 70th on her last weigh-in. I don't know how tall she is--we're going to measure her later. She's now one of the skinniest babies in our group! But she's not on solids yet. I'm not concerned--she's getting as much milk as she wants, she's not 6 months yet and she doesn't seem interested in solids.
I also managed a pram free afternoon :) I successfully wore her in the wrap to the baby clinic, then to the NCT meeting, and home via Waitrose. She actually didn't mind being worn on the bus, which surprised me--it was the one thing I was worried about; I thought I might have to stand the whole time because so far she's not liked being worn when I'm sitting. But I sat down with her in the wrap, no problem. Yay! The only problem was on the way home as I did a sloppy wrap job--the cross was too high on my back and the straps too close to my neck. So it wasn't particularly comfy :/ but it was perfect on the way to the clinic (I popped her out and back in at the clinic, so it was a little messy but generally good after). Still, I'm pleased. It's a bit like the nappies--just going out and doing it gives you more confidence, and practice makes perfect.
There's a NINO (Nine In Nine Out--the babywearing organisation) meet in Hyde Park on the 11th and I think I'll go--maybe i can get some help and tips, especially on the back carries!
