Because not only am I an internet geek, I've read too much SF.

I got a duck on sale a couple of months ago and it's been sitting in our freezer since. I decided to make it tonight. So we're having:
roast duck
gravy (home made natch, I don't touch Bisto)
apple sauce (also home made, but honestly, it's so easy to do)
roast potatoes (in the duck fat, hear my arteries clog)
Yorkshire pudding
carrots
red cabbage (for me)
peas (for Neil)

I think that's quite enough for a Sunday roast dinner. :)

I was annoyed because I hadn't gotten into town to get the 18th June issue of the New Yorker.

I just went to the website to see what I missed (not all the articles are online but the TOC is) and I discovered that 11th June was a double issue. I never noticed. Stupid girl!

Bit bogus I think, I hated the questions--they were rather blunt-edged. I wouldn't quite call myself a "gender abolitionist". I do believe there are some inherent differences between men and women, but that cultural constructs are more important and that generally speaking, it's best to view people as individuals rather than men or women. The test viewed it as either-or, though. And while I think women should be free to do what they want (sexually speaking) I don't necessarily think it's a good idea.

You know what patients call Depakote? "Depabloat". It's been known for years that psych meds make you pile on the pounds. I put 2 and 2 together years ago and said that increasing use of medication could well be a contributing factor to obesity.

I think they understate the pounds, too--"up to 22 lbs" for a year on olanzapine (Zyprexa)? You can gain way more than that, from what I've heard. Depakote did 20 lbs a year for me and from what I hear that's not unusual.
