Aliza didn't want to go back to sleep after her bottle this morning (at 8)--she fussed until I gave her another one at 11. I'm not really surprised; she didn't have her last bottle last night but zonked out at 22:00 and slept through.

I was going to have her weighed and measured today but I think I'll do it tomorrow as it's on my way anyway. Also, this means I can give her her bath later, as I suspect she may well fall asleep soon. (She's next to me in her bouncer, sort of playing with her blocks--she's looking like a nap might be on the cards.)

She likes the block (they're big soft ones) with a little mirror on the side. :) Hmm, when do babies recognise that it's themselves in the mirror? I know she won't yet. I also know she doesn't have object permanence yet so if I hide a toy she'll think it's gone. Dang, I should've taken Developmental Psych in college ;) (I only took Intro. It was interesting enough and I did well but I never thought about taking more courses. It would have come in useful.

Other things for today: try to get through some of my laundry pile, go to the post office to return a book to Amazon, work out what the heck we're having for dinner....

On a forum, there's an argument about "back to sleep". Women are justifying putting their babies on their stomachs because they "sleep better". One woman goes so far as to say her paediatrician told her that if the baby was healthy at birth it's not necessary!!

HELLO!! The whole point of SIDS is that the BABIES SEEM HEALTHY!

"Back to sleep" is PROVEN. It lowers SIDS deaths by 50%. I cannot believe women are willing to risk this.

divided into 3 piles:
1) wash it
2) dry clean it (if I can be bothered... if I've managed with it in the laundry this long, will I really wear it?)
3) bin it :) (quite a lot of tights with runs in them!)

First load of laundry is in.

how I love thee....
(he just laid into Alex Salmond; I know it's not difficult, but Paxo did do it quite wittily)

Now he's on Hazel Blears. Oh dear, she is wearing an eye-watering blouse. It's like 1970s wallpaper.
