I saw the oral surgeon this afternoon. He took an X-ray and confirmed that my bottom right wisdom tooth needs to come out--it's already decaying. :-( (And there's some decay in LR7 as well (probably because they're packed so tightly that I can't brush between them.) LL8 is still under the gum, but that's the one at the crazy angle, and he said there would be no problem taking it out as well.

I'll be having them both out under IV sedation (they don't do a knock-out general unfortunately) on 4th May. It'll cost me £400. :( The NHS wait was months, and I couldn't have the left one done because it's not absolutely necessary. It's cheaper to do 2 at the same time (only one sedation charge for a start) and I'd just rather have it done and dusted. Neil gets to take a day off work to drive me there and back (you're not allowed IV sedation without someone to take you home) and to look after Aliza for the afternoon as I'll be groggy.

Actually, it's only costing me slightly more than 1 tooth would have at my old oral surgeon, if I remember the costs correctly. Private dentistry is somewhat cheaper here--one of the few things that is!

Aliza woke up as the X-ray was being taken and proceeded to charm the socks off everyone--she was being smiley and babbly and generally adorable. Even the male surgeon couldn't resist :)

Aliza's been finishing her 6oz bottles to the last drop and still crying, so I've moved her up to 7oz ones even though it's a little early. She's always been self-regulating, and since the move-up she's left some over several times, so I think that if she wants more it's because she's genuinely hungry.

Next weigh-in is Tuesday, and I'll also ask the HV about her bowels. Oh, and get her measured :)

What with having a small child and all, we haven't had much chance lately to see people. But, we're not total hermits. If anyone happens to be heading up towards Finchley, do feel free to stop by. Notice is appreciated, at least if you don't want to confront a tip ;) (And you run a much better chance of getting homemade goodies.)

Laura's comment about not knowing what bog roll was made me realise that all 3 examples (which were, by the way, chosen off the top of my head) are British! Argh! :-)

(for the record: bog roll = toilet paper, Weetabix = breakfast cereal, and Fairy Liquid = dish soap.)
