Ooh, that was a bit frustrating! If the writers hadn't said they would be wrapping it up and explaining it I think it would be easier to swallow. As it stands, you can eliminate some possibilities, but it's still equally weighted between 2, as I see it. There's definitely one reality and one in his mind; but which is which? (I can get over all his references to the future being correct--that could just be called a necessary plot hole to maintain ambiguity. And in some cases, as with things involving characters, his imagination would invent their futures and he would fulfill them. So that aspect wouldn't be a problem.)

On the other hand, I did develop a worrying fondness for Gene Hunt and his camel coat. For some reason, when it comes to TV (this definitely isn't true in real life) I have a thing for assholes, though usually they're really clever assholes (House is a perfect example. Why I find Hugh Laurie suddenly attractive when he has stubble, an American accent and an attitude problem is a mystery.)

ETA: Judging from what everyone else says, and an interview with the writer in the Manchester Evening News that someone linked to, it does seem like the wake-up was real. I wasn't sure if it was just part of his coma, and he was turning away from waking up and back into his dream world, or if the whole bizarre alternative outlined in the last episode was real after all. I think I was expecting something less straightforward so I went looking for it.

On last night's 3 minute wonder:
"These were the best black Perigord truffles, retailing in France at €22, say £15, a kilo."

I saw that 3 minute wonder. It was €2200 a kilo...
(this is on the web, it might be correct in the print edition)

If you could get Périgord truffles at €22 a kilo we'd all be eating the things!

Normally Aliza has her bottle and then goes back to sleep. Today, no dice. Instead she fussed. Not too bad, she was settle-able for most of it.

I rang Specsavers to chase up my contacts--it's been nearly 2 weeks. It turned out that Bausch & Lomb sent them out, but they basically got loist in the post! They've been re-ordered and B&L promised to send them out today, so I should have them by Friday. I hope.

Aliza wailed her way through the early afternoon (not helped by her jerking her hand when I was cutting her nails; I nicked her skin. No blood though) and then I put tights on her, which she wasn't having today. She calmed down in her pram, but wailed again when we got to Felicity's. A bottle soothed her briefly, but not for long--she fussed on and off for the rest of the afternoon.

Thumbs down to Arriva, by the way. I got to the bus stop at 14:37. Buses were listed as 14:33, 14:48, 14:59. It's 3 stops from the beginning of the route. Next bus showed up at 15:04. I might actually bother writing a complaint this time. That's one bus that simply disappeared.

When we finally got home she was fussy again, then she needed a bottle and Neil wasn't home yet, so I had to feed her. By then it was too late and I was too tired to cook. :(

I'm annoyed with one of Aliza's sleepsuits--an expensive one too (a present). The back half of one of the snaps (the top one, thankfully) came off. At least it came off while stuck to the other half so it can be easily re-stitched when I have a chance (and find some pink thread). I really like the sleepsuit, actually--it's the one from last week's photos, with little embroidered animals on it. The cotton's really lovely and soft, too. I suppose you do get something for your money but I couldn't imagine buying all Aliza's sleepsuits at that price (I think the tag said £20 or something) when she goes through so many of them. (It's Kissy Kissy, if any of you are into designer baby clothes.)
