As expected, he didn't think it was anything serious, but given her age I didn't want to try anything else without the doctor's say-so. It's not an unusual length of time to go without, although he understood I was concerned because it was such a change. Basically, I have to give her some diluted prune juice today, and if she still hasn't gone in a few days, I've got suppositories to give her. In the unlikely event that she still hasn't gone in another week, then he'll need to see her again.

I also made an appointment for her 3 month jabs (DTaP/HiB/IPV and MenC) next week. woo.

Then I dealt with some muppets at Tesco who couldn't comprehend that fresh horseradish wasn't in the "look up code" database at the self-scan checkout. After someone FINALLY went to produce to get the barcode number, it transpired that the horseradish had the same code as the mooli (daikon). DOH. I hate Tesco. I only went there because I guessed (correctly) that they would have fresh horseradish in for Pesach--Finchley Tesco tries to be in tune with local ethnic groups. There's a lot of Asian products (including fresh veg like methi and karela) and a good sized kosher section.

Sign of the last minute Pesach shopper: basket containing parsley, horseradish, and romaine lettuce. Oh, and a quart of prune juice... which could be thought of as a Pesach item too ;-) (Good thing the baby's not eating matza yet!)

Never, ever forget you've put your egg in to roast (for the Seder plate)

This Public Service Announcement brought to you by the woman whose oven is now splattered with exploded egg. Thank God the grill pan was in there or it would all have burnt on the bottom and been even worse...

I gave Aliza an ounce of prune juice (diluted with an ounce of water) and she sucked it right down. Weird child. ;-)

(Yeah yeah, I know, baby tastebuds take time to develop [which is why babies will drink Nutramigen when it smells like vomit] and prune juice is sweet so our inbuilt preference for sweet things takes over... it's just, y'know, prune juice. ;) Hopefully it'll clear things up!)

1) The prune juice has had some effect. Not quite explosive, but it's a start.

2) I have uploaded some very cute photos of Aliza in her matzah bib :)

3) Aliza now likes to put her fist in her mouth. Clever baby.
