First, I overslept (bad night last night) and missed my appointment at the oral surgeon's. I called to apologise, will re-schedule.
I made it to the opticians. Late. One piece of good news: my eyes haven't gotten worse. The optometrist said I was almost 0.25 diopter down on the left, but not quite, and it was better to be slightly too weak than too strong. In terms of oxygen and blood vessels, I'm about 1.5 out of 4, which he said is exactly what he'd expect from someone who's worn contacts as long as I have. My epithelium is slightly scratched; I was advised to leave my lenses out for a few days to let it heal properly. So I'm in my specs now.
I was going to have Aliza weighed, but 1) I forgot her red book (where her health records are kept) and the queue at the clinic was massive (I'll explain how the NHS here works at some point...) So I didn't. I'll see if there are any clinics nearby tomorrow; if not I'll go back to North Finchley Tuesday. It's only just under 3 weeks and you're supposed to have it done every 2-4.
I went to an NCT gathering in Barnet (missed the bus stop, DOH, which was particularly stupid because I knew her road). That was fun, at least. The way back was slow, stopped at Waitrose, had card trouble (always embarrassing, even when you have 2 other cards to pay with, and you know it's not your fault because the card's been flaky for days--transaction timeouts). I didn't get home till 18:45. I went to get Aliza's clothes out of the dryer and discovered I hadn't set the cycle properly: everything had been in there wet since last night. Had to re-run it. meanwhile, no clean sleepsuits :/ (She's in a onesie with a blanket over her now.) She wanted feeding straight after being changed.
Aliza is up to size 3 diapers and 6oz bottles :)
Funnily enough we're having leftovers for dinner. Ha ha.
