We're masochists, so we're watching the Eurovision UK results show.

Some thoughts:

1) Is this a deliberate conspiracy on the part of the BBC to make the UK entry really crap so they won't have to host it next year? (and I mean "crap for Eurovision", since any Eurovision entry since ABBA is, by definition, crap) Ireland supposedly tried it...

2) Can we get Sir Terry a decent sidekick? Fearne Cotton veers between annoying and bland. And her chest is somewhat frightening. I do hope it's only down to double-sided tape.

3) What is John Barrowman doing here? He's American. Americans don't belong in Eurovision.

Oh well. Justin Hawkins has completed his humiliation by not even making it to the sing-off.

I'm not sure I should tag this under "entertainment', but it's the closest thing I've got. ;-)

ETA: LOL!! Nice one BBC! "the winner is.... Cyndi!!" "oh, no, oops! it's Scooch!" (I was rooting for them as they were so incredibly, unbelievably, cheesily Eurovision-tastic.) Another premium rate line screwup? :)

Depending on the price, and if my mother can lend me the money, I may ask the oral surgeon about taking the bottom left wisdom tooth out while he's at it. I know it's going to have to come out (I've been told multiple times that all my wisdom teeth will need to be out as my mouth is overcrowded) and I might as well get it over with. Plus, private dentistry is still cheaper here than in New York!

My mouth is such a mess :-( I really hope Aliza doesn't inherit my teeth. She won't (I hope) have the additional problems I did (too long in braces and, er, an addiction to fizzy drinks) but a big chunk of my problem was definitely genetic. My mother's teeth are terrible too, even though she has excellent habits.

One good news/bad news thing: The spot between my 2 bottom right molars where everything persistently gets caught is not a cavity; it's just due to the shape of the crown. Good news: I don't need it filled. Bad news: to fix it, I'd need to have the crown replaced, which I'm not doing.

(for those of you who have only known me since I stopped spending alternate Saturdays at the dentist, I have innumerable cavities [all teeth filled], 9 crowns, lost count of my root canals, 7 years of braces, 2 cracked-and-extracted wisdom teeth, 11 extracted baby teeth, one adult tooth that was exposed and later died, 1 abcess that blew up and required an emergency drain, and 1 apicoectomy. My gingivitis was reversed but I have periodontal disease to look forward to. And expensive bridgework.)
