I've finally got round to ringing the dentist for a check-up. I'm dreading it. I haven't been taking care of my teeth the way I should and I'm going to get a well-deserved bollocking. I KNOW I have cavities (I can feel one) and I have to talk to him about having my bottom right wisdom tooth out. The oral surgeon tried to convince me to have my bottom ones out when I had my 2nd top one out, but I put it off because of the cost. Now it's through, I know it's impacted, and it hurts. The NHS won't take them out just for being impacted (even though I've seen this one on X-ray, and it's a doozy) but I'm hoping pain is sufficient. Otherwise I'll have to wait till it cracks like the top 2 did and have it out then--and my luck I wouldn't be able to get an emergency extraction.
I'm REALLY hoping I can have general anaesthesia--I don't like having extractions done under a local. I'd be fine paying for the anaesthetic as long as I don't have to pay for the operation as well. Admittedly if I did have a few hundred quid to spare I would go private: there's an excellent clinic near me and I wouldn't have to wait.
Oh well. Going tomorrow.....
