Aliza just didn't want to settle when we brought her into the bedroom. I don't think anything was wrong with her--she was just fine if she was held. She finally went to sleep around 3am. So it seems her schedule is just off, and I need to find a way to adjust it (not cry-it-out, sleep training, Gina Ford etc!) I'm all for child-led parenting but the fact is, newborns don't have a sleep-wake cycle built in; you have to show them. And it's not going to work if she's keeping us awake. I know I'm traditionally nocturnal, but it's not working for me either; I'm tired by 23:00, and I can't sit there cuddling her for hours.
Today is my family's last day here (they fly out tomorrow afternoon) so I'm cooking dinner for them tonight. Only spaghetti and meatballs, though :-) (it was a fairly last-minute decision, and I had to make do with what was in the freezer.)
