Sorry for the belching entries; I know it's (mild) TMI. But damnit, it's annoying, especially since it gets trapped when I'm lying down. Which, since I've been very tired the past few days, is a lot of the time! I know about the acid-reflux pillows, but I really need to be sitting up, not just have my head elevated. Disgusting as it is, I prefer belching all the time to wanting to but getting acid in the back of my throat instead. I'm not entirely sure Neil agrees; he's had to put up with this for months now, and I do it no matter what I eat or drink! (Know what happens when you chug a bottle of Coke? Imagine doing that ALL THE TIME.) Oh well, only 3 weeks to go (hopefully). After this week it's the pineapple and curry diet ;) I want this baby born ON TIME, especially since my family's coming the 11th! (Except for Jen who's coming on the 12th for just over a week--so I definitely want the baby born before she leaves).

Reminder: must contact the Initiation Society about finding a mohel!

Better news: I tried Firefox 2.0.0.1, and the crashing problem seems to be solved, even though it wasn't mentioned in the release notes. I know it was a conflict with Google Toolbar on Intel Macs. I don't think Google Toolbar has been updated (I kept checking for updates so I could try FF2 again) so they must have fixed the bug.

In annoying news, have realised I do need to go back to Waitrose today and face the scrum :/ Shall do it early (well, when they open--11:00).

Various attempts to have a nap this afternoon were foiled by repeated family phone calls. Bah.

I've baked 3 loaves of bread today. I only meant to bake 2, but I'd already measured out everything for the whole wheat when I realised it said "one large (2 lb) loaf". I was using standard 1 lb loaf tins, of course. I'm trying to work out why the whole wheat came out slightly squat. They were raised to the tops of the tins when I put them in the oven--not enough oven spring, possibly? What's weird is, they're not dense inside. It's very puzzling. I haven't used this recipe before, though. I realised last night that I didn't have the book that has my preferred whole wheat bread recipe in it. So I went and looked through some of my other books. None of them had what I wanted--a basic, 50/50 white/wheat loaf sweetened with honey. (I don't like 100% whole wheat; too dense.) Some of the recipes were just silly: Cook's Illustrated's recipe has rye flour in it, for goodness' sakes! So I had to go rummaging on the Internet and wing it. I don't know if the problem is me, or the recipe!

The white is going into the oven after dinner, and it looks fine--I've used that recipe before, so I know it's good.

I shall do some other bits of cooking later as well... try to simplify my morning tomorrow :)
