(can't sleep)

It's slightly worrying that I can identify large chunks of Long Island (major roads, etc) purely from the satellite view.

Found a couple of amusing things, though:
1) If you zoom in on the house I grew up in, you can see just what a monstrosity the neighbours made of their house.
2) If you zoom in on my grandma's house, you can see my old car parked in front (I don't know when the pics were taken, so it might still have been my grandma's car at the time!)
3) If you zoom in on my old high school, you can see the path (worn into the grass) leading through the hole in the fence to McDonalds' parking lot.

(Sorry, no links, it's too hard to explain where in the photos to look!)

First I had my scan. The baby is now head down and engaged! Yay! All measurements are fine; it's above average size-wise, but not abnormally so. The current weight is 6 and a bit lbs, so I should have a nice sized but not enormous baby. All in all, very pleased.

I then had to wait around--unfortunately, they scheduled my scan for 14:20 and my clinic appointment for 16:00. This clinic only runs on Mondays. The next 2 Mondays are Christmas and New Year. So everyone was scheduled for today (what, reschedule the consultant? Ha, ha!) At one point they were running 2 hours behind (I could tell from the appointment time Post-Its on the charts). Thankfully they did manage to get more OBs down from somewhere and I got seen a little after 17:00. Naturally, they called my name for a BP check just as I'd gone to the ladies'. Between the rush and the wait, it was no surprise that I was 160/100.

The consultant appointment itself was fine--she confirmed everything was going well, and wasn't bothered about the missed GTT. I told her why I thought my BP had been so high, and so she had me lie down for a few minutes to calm down, then retook it. Good strategy--I was down to 125/82. To cap off the good news, she said she won't make me come back to the hospital clinic till 40 weeks (8 Jan will be just as insane, I'm sure). I can just have the GP do weekly checks (and refer me back if there's a problem).

Have I mentioned that I'm really excited, by the way?? :)
