puzzled

How, exactly, do I have bug bites all over my legs, in England, in December?? This is hardly a place known for its biting insects (the first time I came here, I was surprised that there were no screens on the windows. Then I discovered there's rarely any bugs to keep out. Quite a change, coming from a place where "humid summer evening" means "stay indoors or have your blood sucked".)

I am normally a target for bites, and if it were July I wouldn't be a bit surprised. But now? I haven't gone outdoors with bare legs in nearly 2 months, and I don't know where they could be inside. Our flat may be slightly messy at the moment, but it certainly isn't dirty. Neil and Zoe both seem fine.

Productive day!

Yesterday was a complete washout. I slept all day. I got up, had something to eat, and went back to bed till 5am.

And then... I was up all day, and I did things! Neil also got up to listen to the cricket (yay we're 551-6) so I took advantage and did the dishes and put in a load of laundry. Later I tidied up a bit. I didn't go back to bed. :)

Later, we went to the Brent Cross Retail Park, and I got 2 baby books. I did get the Dr Sears, figuring I can take the good stuff and ignore the rest, and good old Dr Spock--which has turned out to not be very useful so far. It tries to cover the whole first 5 years, but depth is sacrificed, so it doesn't tell me things I actually need to know. :(

Ick

I have this constant bad taste in my mouth. Some things get rid of it better than others, but nothing gets rid of it for long (even toothpaste and Listerine). I think it's related to my acid burps, and so all attempts to mask it are ultimately futile.

Well, no snogging for me.
