If anyone (on my friends list) wants it, it's in my contact details post (hint: it's on my birthday)

Whenever supporters of Israel complain that there's an overfocus on Israeli actions, critics spring up to disagree.

So imagine my surprise when Amnesty International's UN representative agrees with a NYT editorial complaining about the new Human Rights Council's focus on Israel:

(It really is ridiculous: the UN's Human Rights Commissioner had time for a 5 day trip to the Middle East, in which she blamed the Israelis for the war this summer, but I haven't heard much from her on Darfur.)

ETA: Since its inception 6 months ago, the council has held 3 special sessions on Israel and passed 10 resolutions on it. It has passed no resolutions concerning Darfur--not least because the Arab/Muslim bloc prevents any criticism of human rights abuses in Arab/Muslim states.

Having my GTT done tomorrow. Ah well, good thing I fixed my sleep patterns last night; at least I'll be asleep for most of the fast :(

(Ack! Just realised I've almost finished my current book and I'll have 2 hours to hang around. The papers will last me 40 minutes tops.)

Also rang the surgery; I've got an appointment for a BP/urine check Monday morning. 9:10, meh. Still, at least the receptionist didn't give me any trouble--I said I might not need to see a doctor as it was just a check but she just gave me a regular appointment. I suppose I'm lucky; my surgery is good with routine appointments.

In the meantime, I've made the dough for focaccia and baked 2 trays of cream puffs (misshapen, but edible and they're not for company). Tonight's dinner is spaghetti and meatballs, which I will make after my driving lesson/test.

Failed, owing primarily to mounting the curb on a reverse-round-the-corner. Why I screwed up I don't know--been doing them perfectly! A few minor issues as well, mainly clutch and observation. Still, overall not bad, and I might actually take and pass my damn test before the baby shows up.
