We had a nice evening--had Kathryn and Manu (SIL and boyfriend) over for dinner. Good food, good company. Zoe decided Manu made a good servant.

Now I have a sink full of dishes. Ah well, that's what the dishwasher is for! ;-)

(Unfortunately, now I can't sleep!! I went to bed at 22:30 because I barely slept last night, and I woke up at 3:00 and just couldn't fall back asleep. :( )

Woman in Tribeca (lower Manhattan) claims she "needs" a car to take her daughter to school!!

My jaw dropped, really it did. Poor dear, the subway was crowded? You just can't justify a car in Manhattan. If you have one, be honest: it's pure self indulgence.

(And why can't her daughter take the train by herself? Loads of kids in the city do. Or if her daughter really wanted to go to school uptown, she should have said "fine, but you're going to have to deal with the trip".)
