Well, my past couple days of weird sleep caught up with me. I came home from town yesterday afternoon and decided to have a nap. The nap lasted 12 hours. (Neil was playing bridge last night, although I did wake briefly when he came in.) No dinner for me. That'll be an "oops".

Speaking of bridge, Neil's off to Brighton this weekend for (part of) the EBU Summer Congress. I shall have to amuse myself. Shame there's no films out I want to see (A Scanner Darkly comes out next week, darn it). I am pleased to see, however, that they have made a film of How to Eat Fried Worms (one of the greatest kids books ever) AND they're releasing it in the UK the same day as the USA! Is the book popular here too? I've learnt that there's quite a variation in tastes and kids seem to prefer home-grown. Or publishers aren't very confident about kids, who knows.

Bought The Sims 2: Nightlife. Expansion Pack 4 will bring back pets :) of course Mac users won't even get EP3 for another month or two, so we won't get the Pets pack till Christmas at best! Sadly Civ4 requires a G5 so I can't play it. Bum. Will have to be a new Mac for the 30th ;) I could even ruin it with Vista for emergencies. (Stupid-ass websites that ONLY work with IE, usually because of bad javascript.)

Actually, I tell a lie. I went to WHSmiths and bought the DSA Theory Test Guide--I need to study for it and get it over with. Stupid UK test requires you to KNOW things :P

(New York's written test is only given pre-permit [provisional licence] and is dead easy. Or was in 1993 when I took it. :) )

Nice Irish bloke found out the contract had been done half-assed, so it wasn't showing up correctly. Been fixed, though it might take 24 hours to get through the system. Now once Neil's PC shows up, I can take this in to have the screen replaced. (A 17" Powerbook screen is NOT cheap.)

I blame Neil.... this time he killed it :P

Just viewed the first flat (Holden Road). Very nice, big, typical neutral flat decor (spray-gunned in magnolia with light beige carpet--would prefer hard flooring, but it's hardly a deal-breaker). Bedroom can fit 6' bed. _2_ bathrooms, the luxury!

Only concerns: light (not a huge window in the lounge... night time, so we couldn't tell), dubious looking washing machine (although we have a washer/dryer, so we just need to discuss it with the landlord) and we need to make sure Zoe is OK.

Definitely a possible. We'll see how tomorrow's go...
