It's going to be 37C on Wednesday. :( Now, I may be from America and scoff at the British definition of "heat wave", but it has to be said that on the few occasions it does get very hot, London is a far more unpleasant place to be than most American cities. It simply can't cope. Shops are air-conditioned these days, but public transportation isn't (and the windows on modern buses are useless for getting a breeze).

Neil's playing bridge Wednesday, and normally I'd go into town to do something; however, the thought of the Tube in that heat is making me think twice.
